The Switch 2 is $340 in Japan, the MKW Bundle is $370. Donkey Kong Bananza and Mario Kart World are both $60 standalone, with MKW's physical Japanese version being $67.

Apparently, Nintendo of Japan does not understand business economics.

It's a good point, not sure what they're doing over there bro not gonna lie. I'm American.

Wouldn't be the first time a japanese company has shown favoritism towards their domestic market (Japan). I'd be curious to see what other people are saying about that part specifically

Maybe Japanese people have better self control and if they disagree with the price of a product they will simply not buy it

Nintendo always does things in such a weird way, their in-house preorders don't start for another 2 weeks?

Their preorders start on the app first, by the way.

Nope, I have no idea why. You could register your interest to buy from Nintendo on April 2nd, but invitations have always been set to go out in May in the US. Nintendo of Europe started sending out emails to preorder over a week ago, I think. If at this point Nintendo of America knows which users will be receiving invitations you'd think it'd be wise to let them know as to take pressure off other retailers and have more units available for other people.

this is bad intel, be sure to use the desktop site on mobile, signed out, and with no payment information saved to secure your order fastest

I was very fortunate to manage to get the console and the accessories I was looking for in a single order from the same retailer, I wouldn't have been able to order more than one Pro Controller from Nintendo so I'm glad I was able to secure an order elsewhere. Didn't get canceled overnight, so hopefully I'll be all set come June. 🙏

Target's checkout completely broke until it was sold out. As far as I can tell you had to win the lottery to get through, I was trying since midnight.

Best Buy had a 30min delay on the website, but if you used the app like they wanted it crashed if you went to the product page. I hopped in the queue once it finally went up on the site but it eventually booted me out with an error.

Walmart I hopped in the queue at midnight, waited for 50min, and then it let me buy the console no hassle no rush. So I'm quite happy about that.

I'm waiting to see if the Pro Controller has the same stupid issues the Switch 1 version did before I pay that much for a potential stinker.

Going to guess getting everything off Amazon later is going to be way easier than alternatives like usual anyways.

I love how all the other sites had a sophisticated queue system and Target just did it Black Friday 2009 style.

I went pretty much all-in on Target, just refreshed a bunch until it went through, and it actually stayed confirmed instead of getting cancelled like a bunch of other people's. It was pure luck, but I also had the reservation from Nintendo as a backup

Is there any reason to get the new Pro controller other than the C button? I assume you can get to the chat by just pressing the Home button and selecting it, but maybe that's too hopeful of me lol

It's got back buttons, a headphone jack, and most importantly, Switch 1 controllers won't wake the system from sleep mode.

Damn that last part is nefarious

I think if you pay for NSO Nintendo should provide you with a rented pro controller like ISPs do with routers

If they fix the D-Pad, then it means it's actually useful as a controller.

I hate that I am willing to pay a genuinely obscene tax on a functional D-Pad if it has one after buying the expensive paperweight that is the Switch 1 Pro Controller.

the nso controllers have good d-pads at least. even the n64 one feels better to use than the original (and yes i own that piece of shit dont ask why)
