bud was gonna rebuild this town... we need to catch the one who's done this

thinking im sly i grab a shirt from the general store and draw up the cutest peroro on it to use as a makeshift mask- atua didn't like this and took it from me. he must have sensed the superiority of peroro's visage and attempted to take it for his own in jealousy
crawling through the tunnel from purple to the saloon i rub shoulders with one donning a sack mask of sorts. it's not nearly as impressive as peroro's but i imagine atua took offence with the sack and stol;e their face too

back through the tunnel to purple, snake through the basement to come up otange
there was a sombrero in the generator room
fixing to cause some damage i bust into the explosion warehouse, hearing a train whistle go off as i do, and rig it up to blow the south wall

as i comb through the red building for scooby snacks a trap in the passenger lounge springs, narrowly missing me

at some point, while im around the locomotive end of the train platform, one donning a Sun Hat comes from the cemetery, goes west, the disappears north as i can't see past the telegraph office
i myself take the opportunity to head north, seeing sun hat exit from carpentry and some kind of structure positioned in the northeast intersection

the blue building's breakroom is hopping as a duo clad in an army helmet and a fedora pull me aside to the soundstage to help with filming

pork pie sleeping near the lobby entrance
i patrol the orange buildings exterior but all i see is sun hat againm, this time constructing a gate at the east end of the north road

after we've washed the body off and rechecked thoroughly that the dye wasn't hiding anything, i'd like to perform a more physically invasive autopsy and carefully check the contents of his stomach and lungs
we can always sew him back up later

Does the barrel look like it's from the Brewery...?

And if not, the General Store?
Though maybe it's too exploded to tell...

U-um... actually, what rooms have barrels in them in general?

Lastly, at least for now... can we wash Bud off in normal water somewhere?
I was thinking - could he have signs of drowning that the dye is hiding? If... that makes sense.
Some of the red rocks do taste very earthy when in powder form.

You can find barrels in the General Store, Brewery, and Mining Equipment. There's definitely barrels missing from the General Store, though you can't tell if that's because they've been removed or been destroyed. There's a barrel missing from the Brewery, as well. The Mining Equipment barrels are fully stocked.

You wash off Bud. Unfortunately, it seems like the red dye is not soluble in water.

It's a regular vegetable soup. You don't find anything odd about it.

You open up Bud. His lungs contain a small amount of water. His stomach is empty.

You search the Cemetery and find a whole bunch of dead bodies. There is also a new grave marker for Lasagna Cat.

Can we try to use detergent to clean off Bud?

Or... um, failing that, veggie oil?
Or some kind of oil... I don't know...

Before I could begin my survey tonight I had to dispose of some contraband in the Gambling Parlor, I did not see anyone until joining up with the individual in the Bowler Hat in the General Store as we descended into the Storeroom together.

My report for the Yellow Basement is as follows:

Generator room: There is a single point of failure for each building's power supply, this is definitely not up to code.
An individual wearing a Witch Hat passed through from Purple Basement to the Server Hall at this time.

Cold Storage: A loud train whistle blared on my way in here. IDs seemingly confirm the corpses here are indeed Crimson Eye operatives.

Server Hall: I attempted to pull data from the servers in here when someone attacked me.

When I woke up I found the server's cooling pipes plugged directly into my respiratory system. While technically a transfer, water was not the format I was hoping for, so I aborted that download and began transferring data to drives the traditional way. An individual in a Flat Cap was present when I woke and disconnected the coolant pipe from myself.

While performing this data transfer I witnessed a number of individuals come and go. I have listed them and identified their headwear for your convenience:
Flat Cap: Server Hall -> Cold Storage
Top Hat and Baseball Cap: Maintenance Office -> Cold Storage
Baseball Cap: Cold Storage -> Maintenance Office
Top Hat: Cold Storage -> Generator Room
Flat Cap: Cold Storage -> Maintenance Office

The data largely concerned Crimson Eye experiments and Liturgical Interactions, however there is additional information about the original Chapel, its destruction by the Union Army Paranormal Division, and their attempts to bury Atuaism.

Once I was done I continued my survey (see below) and returned to my dormitory.

Maintenance Office: N/A

You scrub him down with some detergent, and manage to remove some of the red dye via a proper cleaning.

It appears that underneath it, Bud's skin has a distinctly blue cast to it. Odd.

. . . . .

I went to General Store first to retrieve cart for day of work ahead. Saw Bud walk west when I got outside. Went to the Farrier to prepare big horse wagon.

Returned to General Store to go to basement. Sombrero (Elster) is here and goes down with me, they leave for hallway. I head to Atua's Shrine beneath blue and Bonnet (Cascabela) is here, entering Crypt. They are retrieving bodies buried here in pretender god's name. Good.

Knowing Atua draws strength from this site of ritual, I collect all the objects of worship and set his temple alight with cleansing flame. Let the hand of man fall to dust and the earth return to telluric spirits.

I continue east while Bonnet (Cascabela) goes west. I pass by Top Hat (Roland, Fedora (North Star), and Russian Hat (McJango) inside Crimson Eye Laboratory with the long name. I exit underground through Bank Vault, where Baseball Cap (Evangeline) and Cowboy Hat (Jessica) are. I go to Chapel to do the same I did downstairs. Beret (Akira) and Russian Hat (McJango) arrive to help and together we take apart Atua's gold statue. A train whistle sounds, then Sun Hat (Partitio) walks in carrying clothes. Beret (Akira), Russian Hat (McJango), and myself leave to bring worship items to wagon by Water Tower Ruins. Pork Pie Hat (Ranger) joins us on the way.

After loading wagon with more crap, Pork Pie (Ranger) stays behind and Beret (Akira) enters Saloon. Russian Hat (McJango) and I go to orange building, they stay in Carpentry while I go to Blacksmith, melting pieces of the gold statue in furnace.

I the go outside to cemetery, wanted to pay respects to my apprentice. Bud is nearby too, working on a little house on northeast intersection. It is sickly appropriate to see him here. I came to give farewell to one friend, and now I have to do the same to another.

I go up to Bank Vault again to carry tainted silver to the wagon, and pass by Mining Equipment to grab shovel. I see Fedora (North Star) on the way and I also hear gunshots from Saloon. I decide to make second trip to the Vault and see Sun Hat (Partitio) carrying wood to their gate.

With everything in place, I give contents of the wagon a thorough lookover, to make sure it only contains silver and items of worship, nothing that could turn out to be a murder weapon. I also write list of every item loaded. After everything is ready, Roland joins me and we set off for the desert. We only see Sun Hat (Partitio) on the way, Bud is no longer at the little house he built.

Together Roland and I find secluded spot in the desert and dig a pit. We toss all the liturgic crap in there and I set it all on fire. Then we bury it, and let desert winds take care of the rest.

I present the wagon inventory list so it may be freely referenced by everyone, for the purpose of checks.

We did all this work, and it was for nothing.

I hope you are happy with yourself now, culprit.
You could have killed anyone else, including myself. But you chose the one man who could have saved us.

This town is doomed now... and so are you.
Be prepared to pay the price.

You present this. It appears that it contained several skeletons with Atuaist jewelry, the preacher robes of Spencer Edwards, a whole lot of liturgic silver, anything with any religious implications from the Chapel, some ritual knives, many pieces of the golden idol of Atua, and some liturgic equipment created by the Crimson Eye.

Examine the little house Bud built at the southeast intersection.

Examine the gate Sun Hat built.

Look through the burnt-out ruins of carpentry and the blue basement why not, for missing items or anything else that's noteworthy.

Search on and around the plot for anything out of the ordinary. Check for buried items.

You examine the little house. It's a nice place. Could fit about one person uncomfortably, or some things for sheltering them.

You look over the gate. It's a nice little gate. A "welcome to Silver Junction" style gate, like in Old West films.

You look through the burnt-out ruins of Carpentry. Unfortunately, you cannot tell if anything is missing, since everything is ashes or melted. Ouch.

You check the Blue Basement. The burnt rooms here are more limited burning, and you can tell reasonably that many items have been removed, including skeletons, the ritual knives, and Spencer's robes.

You examine the Plot. It doesn't seem like there's any major disturbances, nor is there anything buried here but some budding seeds.

For clarity, the Lift platform itself is intact. Only the controls have been destroyed at both control panels.

Anyway, it appears they were both ruined by explosions.

Do the barrels in the General Store and the Brewery have any particular substances inside them by default?

Does the barrel holding Bud look like it was custom-made, or like it was from one of those rooms?

Right... Guess I'd better put my money where my mouth is and actually do some legwork myself, huh? Can't say I'm happy about having to do some of these things, but if it's for Bud...

Attempt to climb into an empty barrel the same way Bud was positioned, get Evangeline or someone to help, then stand by to pull me out. Is it hard to breathe in this position? Can I get into the barrel in this position alone or do I need help? Does it feel like I would suffocate if I stayed in here?

Check Film Equipment for any kind of water-resistant red body paint or dye. Anything match Bud's dye? Anything missing?

Ask Hollywood Bowl if they had any wood stain in Carpentry - specifically anything that might've matched Bud's coloring if applied to skin.

The tunnels are clean, except for that persistent stagnant water.

The barrels in the general store have a wide variety of stuff in them. The brewery barrels are a mix of storing alcohol and empty.

The barrel looks like it came from a room.

you climb in the barrel, with Evangeline's help. It looks like if the barrel was on its side you could get in this way on your own. It's very uncomfortable, but you're not about to suffocate or anything. Looks like you could stay alive like this for a night.

You check film equipment, and find no such dyes missing.

Nah. We had some wood stains in there, but none of them were that kind of a fierce red.

Marty... Why...

...

Alright, so... What Zalsarona was sayin' last night, well, I ain't sure if that'll help us get rid of Texas Toast but it seemed worth a try. Started my night by stoppin' in Carpentry fer some woodworkin' tools then went outside. Panama Hat (Nico?) was watchin' from the northeast corner o' the yellow building. Went on over to green and saw Top Hat (Roland?) and Russian Hat (McJango?) at the Bank. Top Hat claimed to be Roland, which I s'pose tracks. Went down to the green basement from there and went through that there Paranormal HQ, gatherin' up documents talkin' 'bout Spence Redwards. Went back into green and saw Roland, Baseball Cap (Evangeline?), and Fedora (North Star?) goin' into the blue basement. I stayed in green and gathered up as much junk as I could. Went back up through the Vault and went outside. A loud train whistle went off and I walked with Flat Cap (Kroos?) to the west fer a bit.

Figured I could do some of the disposal work m'self, so I went to the Blacksmith. Saw Army Helmet (Bowl?) comin' from red, and Fez (Ventura?) was in Carpentry when I passed through there. Tossed all them papers into the furnace and grabbed a rod fer one of my construction projects. Something exploded nearby too... Ain't sure what that was. Went back outside and saw McJango, Bowler Hat (Zalsarona?), and Beret (Akira?) carryin' a whole mess o' things that looked like they had somethin' to do with Texas Toast. I joined in with 'em and we tossed all the junk we'd got into Zalsarona's wagon. Akira left fer the Saloon while McJango and Zalsarona headed off east.

Decided to clean things up and make things look nice at the same time, so I took some of the mess from the collapsed Water Tower and built a statue of Mayor Bud outta it. Bonnet (Cascabela?) came by and dumped some skeletons in the wagon while I was workin'. After I finished I went over to purple and saw Cowboy Hat (Jessica?) by Mayor Bud's bees. I passed through the Sheriff's Office into the store where I started on my next project, makin' a new flag fer Bud Town. Also got m'self more toasters fer fightin' Texas Toast. When it was ready I went upstairs and saw Cascabela drinkin' alone in the Officer's Club. Went into Mayor Bud's Office and heard some odd buzzin' noise, then climbed out on the roof and set up the flag.

Everywhere I go, I see his face... in that particular part o' town.

Went back around and Cascabela was in Mayor Bud's Office now. I made a stop over in the Executive Office to leave a note fer Bowl - we'd talked the night b'fore 'bout doin' some filmin', but I reckoned with Texas Toast's hat nonsense it wouldn't make fer a good picture. Maybe tomorrow, though I ain't sure I feel up to makin' movies anymore, if I gotta be honest with ya...

That was all the business I wanted to take care of, so I went to go fight Texas Toast again. Saw a new structure o' some kind in the northeast part o' town while I was lookin' fer him. Found him 'round the Chapel with Nico. He dismissed her and she went off fer the Bank. He was missin' one o' his horns, and I thought maybe that was a good sign... Well, it really wasn't, so I'm just gonna say he went and clobbered me again, and I spent the rest o' the night knocked out in the dirt. Startin' to reckon fightin' him head on ain't gonna work.

...

I'm sorry, Mayor... I failed you...
