Does it also work fine if you add the dye after Elden Ring drowns?

Not sure how to compare all of that to Bud... this is just what North Star told me to check on, so...
The check works fine regardless of the presence or absence of dye at the time.

You scour the ground around purple. There's not a single trace of the chalcanthite powder.

You pocket sand Nico. It gets everywhere - face, chest, and around the area, as always.

Can we find any trace of the powder inside Purple itself in any of the rooms?

Including, um, any strangely-tinted brine that might be on the floor of the Storeroom... I guess.

You don't find any powder traces inside the Purple rooms.

You examine the street, you circle Yellow, and you circle Blue. There's no powders lying around there either.

Um, I'll check the Plot and the area by the canal too for powder, or if it looks like there's some extra blue water nearby...?

A-Also, I want to follow up on North Star's mortar/bag check... to see if someone could huff it without getting it everywhere...
s-sorry, Elden Ring.

The plot and the area at the start of the canal don't have any powder zones.

It looks like it would suppress some of the powder and help ensure someone inhaled a lot of it, but there would still be some going somewhere.

You've got a couple brooms in the Trading Post. You also have a couple brooms in the General Store, and they actually did avoid getting blown up.

They are dustless. You people are filthy.

It looks like if you positioned a person right, you could have the powder end up entirely in the canal or the barrel, yes.

Is the inside of the barrel wet beyond just brine? Can we tell?

As in... did it have plain old water in it previously?

If we scrub off some of the dye with soap/detergent, is the barrel also stained blue?

You investigate the inside of the barrel. It looks to not be wet beyond pre-existing brine.

You scrub off the dye. Underneath is Barrel Color, not blue.

The rain barrel's water is clean. If you perform the kill the way you believe it to be done, there would be visible contamination in a limited water space such as the barrel.

Since it doesn't seem like the red rocks are a perfect match for the dye - can I check to see if there are any plants around the area that could be used that would have a earthy taste ( i.e. Madder root / Pokeweed berries apparently grow in the old west)

You investigate the plants. There's a couple plants that could create a red dye, but they don't match the dye in the barrel any better than the rocks too.

How about any bug nests in the area that might be have shells that could be crushed up to make dye?

It looks like if you crushed up cochineal beetles, you could make a dye that's close enough to be a match.

No, the rushing water cleans it effectively enough.

Where can you source cochineal beetles?
